Hi, I’m Sarah McCaw Smith.

Through my own birthing experiences, and those of my family and friends, I knew that I wanted to be an educated ally and partner for others as they became parents. I want people to feel empowered in their birthing journey. A colleague shared that our job as a doula is to support birthing people with the labor and delivery they are given. Brilliant advice! We all have unique to us experiences before, during, and after birth, and while we all hope and plan for our ideal path, we also must be educated and prepared for the journey our body, and our baby, takes us on. I wholeheartedly believe that everyone deserves the care and support that an experienced doula can provide during your prenatal, birth, and postpartum time. I am here to support your family in whatever glorious form that takes!

I am a 2024 DONA trained birth doula, a mother of two, and have supported both family and friends in their pregnancy and postpartum journeys. I am a lifelong elementary and early childhood educator and am excited about this next adventure. It feels like a natural progression for me to lean into the birthing support field after supporting families through childhood for so long.

I pride myself on my abilities to connect with others in authentic and caring ways. I am an empath who truly finds joy in life experiences. I have an inherent belief that communication is the cornerstone to any solid relationship, and pride myself on my ability to do so effectively and with kindness. I will always be a reliable partner and support.

My Approach

This is a partnership. I am here to support you, as the birthing person, through your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. We will work together to learn about what supports you are interested in via conversation, questioning, and regular communication. I am here for you and will help guide through this process with knowledge, care, and thoughtful preparation.
